Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship Applicant Criteria

To be eligible to apply for the CAP fellowship program, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Successful completion of an MD or DO degree program
  • Anticipated completion of at least three years of psychiatric training in an ACGME accredited psychiatry program prior to starting the fellowship 
  • A score of PASS on the USMLE Step 3 or COMLEX 3 
  • Successful completion of at least 2 adult clinical skills exams (CSE)

Applications will be accepted and reviewed via Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS); however, the fellowship program will NOT be participating in the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) for the 2024-2025 application cycle.

Please make sure the following items are included in your electronic application:

  • ERAS application
  • Medical school transcripts
  • Official USMLE transcript
  • If applicable, ECFMG certificate
  • Personal Statement describing your interest in child and adolescent psychiatry and plans for future professional work 
  • Three letters of recommendation (one letter must be from your current Program Director)
  • Training Verification Form (to be completed by your current program director including dates of successful adult CSE examinations)
