About St. Joseph's Children's

Located in Tampa, Florida, St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital is one of the premier pediatric centers in the southeastern United States. With more than 170 pediatric physician specialists representing over 25 subspecialties, our hospital exposes residents to diverse and robust clinical experience. Our Level II pediatric emergency and trauma center is equipped with cutting-edge technology and staffed by pediatric emergency medicine specialists, offering residents an opportunity to develop skills in acute care and trauma management. Residents also rotate at our adjacent St. Joseph’s Women’s Hospital, featuring a Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Together, these institutions offer our residents hands-on training experience in both general and subspecialty pediatrics.

Dedicated Residency Clinic

Our dedicated pediatric continuity clinic, owned and operated by BayCare, is located just 10 minutes from St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital. Residents spend a half day each week in this outpatient setting, where they build and manage their own panel of patients, creating a true medical home. This longitudinal experience allows for meaningful continuity of care and long-term relationships with patients and families. Under the guidance of experienced faculty, residents gain hands-on experience in preventive care, chronic disease management, and developmental monitoring, all within a supportive, community-focused environment. The clinic plays a key role in helping residents develop autonomy, confidence, and the skills essential for high-quality primary pediatric care.
