Community Service

Our programs are deeply committed to community service, empowering residents to address local health needs through outreach, education, and compassionate care. By partnering with community organizations, residents develop meaningful connections and make a lasting impact, promoting wellness and improving access to care for underserved and vulnerable populations.

Clinic Affiliations

Our Family Medicine residency programs are affiliated with ambulatory clinics that provide the foundation for continuity of care. Residents manage a dedicated panel of patients across the lifespan—from newborns to older adults—gaining experience in both acute and chronic care. These clinics support long-term patient relationships and comprehensive, community-based care, preparing residents to meet the diverse and evolving health needs of the populations they serve.

Clinical Research

BayCare’s Clinical Research Operations teams provide specialized staffing support to Principal Investigators across BayCare Health System in the conduct of clinical research involving human subjects. These teams support clinicians by navigating trial start-up and supporting the daily operations of running a clinical trial as delegated, under their oversight. The primary purpose of these teams is to increase access opportunities for participation in clinical research by both clinicians and patients to provide potentially life-changing care for patients today, and to advance the science of medicine for future generations. Additional resources for residents include the medical library, CITI training, and access and training for IRB submission.

Community Outreach Events

Family Medicine residents actively participate in community outreach events such as back-to-school physicals, sports physicals, and OB wellness fairs. These events provide valuable opportunities for residents to engage with patients outside of the traditional clinic setting, promote preventive care, and support community health initiatives.
