Ketones Urine

Ketones increase in the body when the body does not receive enough carbohydrates or sugar for fuel. They build up when fats and fatty acids are used in place of carbohydrates and sugar. This urine sampling test is frequently done on individuals with type 1 diabetes and having high blood sugar or having an illness that includes nausea, vomiting, pneumonia, heart attack or stroke.
