Endovascular Stent Grafting EVAR

Endovascular Stent Grafting - EVAR

Endovascular stent grafting, also known as endovascular aneurysm repair (EVAR) , is surgery to close an aneurysm in the aorta. The aorta is a prominent artery that transports blood to the abdomen, pelvis and legs. An aneurysm happens when this artery enlarges too much or grows outward too much because of weakness in the artery. A stent, a metal coil, is used to close the artery. This surgery is performed when the aneurysm is enlarging too fast, bleeding or leaking.
