Fallopian Tube Recanalization

Fallopian tube recanalization clears a blockage in the fallopian tube that might be causing infertility. The procedure involves passing a small tube(sheath)into the uterine cavity through the vagina. A smaller tube through the sheath is passed into the uterine cavity. A guidewire is used in the opening to the fallopian tube. A brisk injection of contrast material is made into the opening to flush out any debris. If this procedure fails, then the blockage is gently manipulated with a guidewire and removed.
