Lung Cancer - Most cancerous tumors that develop in the lungs of children originate in another tissue. Cancer cells from one tissue are released into the bloodstream and invade other tissues, including the lungs. In some instances, congenital defects or abnormalities in the developing fetus can be the cause of pediatric lung cancer. An example of this is congenital lung cysts that can develop in an abnormal intrauterine environment.
