BayCare Behavioral Health specializes in helping children and adults with mental health issues including anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, personality disorders and other persistent mental illnesses or emotional issues.

BayCare Behavioral Health Inpatient Orientation Video

BayCare Behavioral Health leadership team discusses what to expect during a behavioral health inpatient stay, key team members and their role in patient care, treatment programs and the discharge process.

  • Outpatient
    BayCare offers psychiatric evaluations and outpatient therapy for individuals and families who do not require inpatient treatment. Our outpatient program allows patients to live at their own homes, remain with family and maintain a job while still receiving treatment in the form of therapy and medication management.
  • Assertive Community Treatment
    The Florida Assertive Community Treatment team provides intensive, assertive community-based treatment for eligible adults in Pasco County, which include treatment, rehabilitation and support services for individuals with severe and persistent mental illness and/or co-occurring disorders. 
  • Case Management
    Specially trained case managers in Pasco, Hernando and Polk Counties will help connect adults, children and families with attaining resources such as medical, social, educational and support services. 
  • Children's Treatment Center
    Outpatient and in-home counseling services provide individual, family and group therapy to help children, adolescents and their families build on their strengths and improve their overall quality of life. 
  • Community Action Team (CAT)
    CAT is designed to allow children and families in Pasco County the option to remain in the least restrictive environmental setting with support from a multiple disciplinary team. The CAT program focuses on strengthening relationships within the family and developing a natural support system for the individual served and their family. 
  • COMPASS
    Counseling to Optimize Mental health and Promote Achievement in Student Success (COMPASS) is a school overlay program in Pasco County designed to incorporate facilitative assistance into school settings through positioning mental health professionals within high risk targeted schools on a daily basis to provide family navigation, training, screening, intervention and counseling services. 
  • Housing
    The Housing Program in Pasco and Hernando Counties allows eligible adults with serious mental illness the ability to live in HUD approved safe, decent and affordable housing while receiving the necessary recovery supports and services to live independently in the community. 
  • Infant Mental Health (IMH)
    IMH services in Pasco and Hernando Counties are geared towards implementation of therapeutic strategies designed to promote the social and emotional well-being of children and babies aged 0-5. 
  • Project for Assistance in Transition from Homelessness (PATH)
    Case management and navigation for people in Pasco County with serious mental illness or with a co-occurring substance use disorder, who are experiencing homelessness or at imminent risk of becoming homeless. 
  • Residential
    BayCare offers longer-term (60-90 day) residential care for youth between the ages of 6 and 18 who require intensive treatment, structure and supervision that cannot be offered in an outpatient or community-based residential setting. The Statewide Inpatient Psychiatric Program (SIPP)  has caring and trained professionals providing 24-hour nursing, psychiatric and counseling services.
