This program specializes in treating adults who need short-term, intensive behavioral health care in a structured environment. Patients receive compassionate, individualized care from a multidisciplinary team that focuses on stabilization and wellness. BayCare Behavioral Health at Mease Dunedin Hospital is a Baker Act-receiving facility.
Arriving for Care
Walk-ins are welcome through the hospital’s emergency room (ER) for anyone who needs immediate behavioral health evaluation or care. When you arrive, check in at the ER desk. This inpatient facility provides care for emergent needs only, so patients must first be medically cleared through the ER before admission to the behavioral health unit. The ER entrance is located on Milwaukee Avenue, near the hospital’s main entrance. If your visit involves a mental health crisis or an involuntary admission under the Baker Act, the ER team will begin that process. You don’t need to bring specific information or ID cards; our staff will help you check in and guide you through the next steps.
