St. Joseph’s Hospital-North Unit for Psychiatry and Medical Services
Monday-Sunday, 24 hours a day
St. Joseph’s Hospital – North Unit for Psychiatry and Medical Services is a state-of-the-art program that provides acute mental health services to a patient population that has advanced medical and psychiatric comorbidities. This program will challenge how we deliver care within psychiatry resulting in a patient experience that is more aligned with a medical experience. Traditionally, psychiatry requires the patients to come to treatment in a unit environment, such as groups in group rooms, medications at the medication rooms, physician interviews in office within the unit and meals within the cafeteria. This new program delivers care to the patient in the same way that care is provided to patients within acute care programs in medicine.
The foundation of this program stands tall on the integration between medical acute care services and psychiatry.
