Who can attend this event?
Cancer survivors and those touched by cancer. Each cancer survivor may invite up to five guests for a total party of six.
Do I have to pre-register to attend?
Since the event does have a maximum capacity, we strongly recommend purchasing tickets online prior to the event to attend. Registration will remain open through Feb. 1 until we reach attendance capacity. Walk-ups on event day will be accepted on a first come, first served basis until we reach attendance capacity.
What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?
To honor BayCare’s commitment to “Go Green,” we strongly encourage carpooling in groups of four or more to ease parking congestion.
We also suggest using ride-sharing services like Uber and Lyft for easy park access. There will be a special ride-sharing drop off point at the front of the zoo for drop off and pick up on event day from 4pm-8pm during the exclusive BayCare event hours.
If you choose to carpool or rideshare for the exclusive BayCare hours of 4pm-8pm, be sure to mark the appropriate option during registration that confirms your transportation plans.
Parking for the event is free. Follow all signs for event parking. A guest drop-off area will be available at the front of the park for handicapped guests who require additional assistance.
If you pledge to “Go Green” and carpool or rideshare, we will thank you by entering your name into a special chance prize drawing that will take place during our ceremony around 7:30pm on event day. You must be present to win.*
Only guests who register online prior to Feb. 1 will be eligible for the prize drawing. Walk-up guests will not be eligible, as this is a “pre-pledge” that must be made prior to traveling to the event.
What can I bring into the event?
No outside food or drinks are allowed inside ZooTampa (unless required for medical purposes or child care). No weapons or illegal substances are permitted. For additional information, please visit https://zootampa.org/zoo-rules/. Please note that for this special event, there will be no smoking on ZooTampa property at any time during regular park hours. In addition, we recommend leaving bags and purses at home if possible to expedite your entrance into the event, as the zoo does use security scanners prior to park entry.
What can use my $10 meal voucher for?
Each attendee will receive two $5 meal vouchers (total of $10) upon arrival to use at any of the food or non-alcoholic beverage kiosks throughout the park.

What's the refund policy?
You can request a refund of your tickets within 7 days of purchasing them through Eventbrite.com. Please note: you may not sell or transfer your tickets to another person.
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
After you register online, you’ll receive event tickets with a unique barcode. You can print your tickets and bring them with you to the event, save your tickets to your mobile device for access during check-in, or download the Eventbrite app and present the barcode from your account page. For expedited check-in at the event, be sure to have your tickets accessible for admission into ZooTampa and the Expedition Survivor event.
Can I update my registration information?
Yes, you can update your registration information after purchasing your tickets through Eventbrite.com
Is my registration fee or ticket transferrable?
Event tickets are non-transferable and are not for resale.
Can I order a T-shirt?
There are no T-shirt sales for this year’s event.
Will this event be professionally photographed?
Yes, the event will be photographed. Photography could be used for future BayCare marketing. If you do not wish for your photograph to be used, please select the “no photo” option in your event registration and visit the BayCare help booth located on the left near the security area in front of the Zoo Tampa main gates. They will help you obtain a red sticker that alerts our marketing team to your wishes to be excluded in any photos. We will do our best to identify you and avoid using your photo, but since this is a public event we cannot 100% guarantee exclusion or use of any particular event photo.
Where do I check in if I arrive before 4pm?
BayCare will operate a separate admission area at the main zoo entrance from 9:30am – 3pm. Look for signage and bring your pre-purchased ticket. You will receive a special “BayCare guest” identifier indicating you are planning to stay for the day.
If you arrived before 3pm and are already in the park, you can continue enjoying the zoo during our final set up time prior to the main gates reopening. The zoo and BayCare event staff will help instruct guests if there are any special guidelines to follow during final set up.
What if I come to the zoo as a registered guest before 3pm, leave for a while, and decide to come back for the exclusive hours (after 4pm)?
When you come in through the BayCare admission area at the main zoo entrance prior to 3pm, you will show your pre-registration confirmation and receive a special BayCare guest identifier. If you leave the park at any time and want to return later, you will have to visit the guest assistance desk at the main entrance of the zoo and bring your pre-registration confirmation, your photo ID, and your BayCare identifier you received earlier in the day. Re-admission will not be granted if you do not have all three of these items with you, unless you purchase a new ticket (provided the event is not sold out at the time). Please note: You will not qualify for new food vouchers upon re-entry to the park.
Where can I rent a wheelchair, scooter or stroller?
The zoo has a limited number of rentals available. Reservations are not accepted.
Wheel Chairs and ECVs
A limited quantity of manual wheelchairs and ECVs are available for rent inside the Zoo on a first come, first served basis. Due to the popularity of these rentals, the Zoo is unable to guarantee availability or reserve equipment. Rental fee plus a held photo ID as a deposit are required to rent a manual or electric wheelchair.
