Shoulder Manipulation Under Anesthesia

Frozen shoulder, or adhesive capsulitis, is stiffness or pain in the shoulder. The shoulder becomes difficult to move. In shoulder manipulation under anesthesia, the patient is put to sleep and the doctor forces the shoulder to move causing the capsule and scar tissue to tear and extend. This loosens the shoulder and improves range of motion.
