Implantable Loop Recorder

An implantable loop recorder (ILR) is a small device implanted under the skin of chest to left of your breastbone. It is implanted by a Suncoast Medical doctor during a procedure in a hospital. The ILR can record electrical activity of the heart. ILRS are used for patients experiencing fainting, lightheadedness, dizziness, palpitations or seizures. Your doctor can review episodes during an office visit.
