How to Use Baby Walkers
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission offers these tips for those who wish to use baby walkers safely:
Securely block off stairways and doorways. Nearly half of the most severe accidents occur when the baby and walker fall down the stairs.
Avoid uneven areas, such as raised thresholds or carpet edges that may cause walkers to tip over.
Clear objects off tables, countertops and stovetops that children in walkers might be able to reach.
Never let children in walkers near ranges, fireplaces or space heaters.
Watch children in walkers very carefully; they can move faster than you might expect.
