Winter Haven Women’s Hospital offers comprehensive cancer care for women throughout Polk County. We are committed to providing personalized service tailored to the unique needs of women. We specialize in the surgical treatment of:

Breast Cancer Services

Early detection is an essential component of fighting breast cancer. Winter Haven Women’s Hospital provides women access to innovative imaging and diagnostic testing procedures to help detect cancer in its earliest stages. We encourage women to follow the national guidelines for regular breast cancer screenings. However, those who have a family history or who exhibit any of the other risk factors should speak to their doctor about screening earlier.

Cervical, Endometrial and Ovarian Cancer

Surgery is the most common treatment for cancer, with approximately 60 percent of cancer patients undergoing surgery. Winter Haven Women’s Hospital provides both inpatient and outpatient procedures to treat and diagnose cervical cancer, endometrial cancer and ovarian cancer, among others.

Some of the procedures performed at Winter Haven Women’s Hospital are:

• Bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy (removal of fallopian tubes and ovaries)
• Minimally invasive hysterectomy
• Oophorectomy (surgical removal of an ovary or ovaries)
• Ovarian cyst removal
• Traditional hysterectomy
