Neonatal Intensive Care (NICU) at St. Joseph's Hospital-North
Our neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) is located at the Maternity Center at St. Joseph’s Hospital-North in Lutz, Florida, and is part of the BayCare Kids network.
Our New NICU
A level II NICU is now open at St. Joseph’s Hospital-North. The 8-bed unit gives newborns and their moms specialized care, seven days a week, 24 hours a day, from highly trained certified nurses and respiratory therapists and in-house, board-certified neonatologists or nurse practitioners. This family-centered NICU provides individualized care and a comforting environment for the whole family. In addition, the NICU offers “couplet care,” which lets mother and baby stay in the same room from the moment of delivery. In case your baby needs an even higher level of care, we can transport them to our level IV NICU at St. Joseph’s Women’s Hospital in Tampa, Florida.
