Additional Curriculum Rotations

There’s no overnight call in our Transitional Year Residency. The schedule is designed to mirror the PGY1 Family Medicine resident experience. The curriculum emphasizes education and learning opportunities during daytime hours. To ensure a comprehensive emergency medicine experience, residents will work a mix of morning, day and night shifts. There’s no night float. All ACGME work-hour rules will be followed. Faculty are aware of these requirements, and residents should never be placed in a position that violates any of these standards. When creating the Transitional Year Residency rotation schedule, we were intentional about balancing the demands of a medical career with the personal well-being of both residents and faculty.
