Dr. Vindhya is a fellowship-trained cardiothoracic anesthesiologist with more than 18 years of clinical, academic and administrative experience at St. Joseph's Hospital in Tampa. He serves as Program Director of the BayCare Anesthesiology Residency and Medical Director of Anesthesiology for BayCare Medical Group where he provides strategic leadership across multiple hospitals and oversees initiatives focused on clinical quality, workforce development and perioperative care delivery.
Dr. Vindhya completed his General Anesthesiology residency and cardiothoracic Anesthesiology fellowship at Yale University, where he was awarded the Vincit Omnia Award as one of the program's top outgoing residents and fellows. He's a Fellow of the American Society of Anesthesiologists (FASA) and a Fellow of the American Society of Echocardiography (FASE). Dr. Vindhya has been peer-nominated as one of Tampa’s Top Doctors in Anesthesiology for five consecutive years.
Dr. Vindhya is an active national and international speaker, with presentations at the American Society of Anesthesiologists Annual Meeting, Grand Rounds and international conferences.
His academic and leadership interests include perioperative quality improvement, graduate medical education, research, Perioperative Transesophageal Echo and the development of innovative anesthesia workforce models. Dr. Vindhya is a member of program director organizations at the national level and is committed to building a residency program rooted in mentorship, scholarly development and clinical excellence.
