Susan Tovar

Manager, Graduate Medical Education


Susan Tovar was born and raised in Toledo, Ohio, but moved to Florida with her husband and two children in March of 2014. Currently, she serves as the Graduate Medical Education Manager for the USF/MPM Family Medicine and Sports Medicine programs, overseeing the administrative staff and day-to-day operations of the educational aspects of the program. Previously she worked as a GME Manager and Fellowship Programs Coordinator in Largo, Florida, and as a Residency & Fellowship Curriculum Coordinator in Toledo, Ohio. Susan has been in Graduate Medical Education for over 14 years, with a total of 20 years in Healthcare. Mrs. Tovar is currently the Chair of the Association of Hospital Medical Education’s Council of Program Administrators and Coordinators. She successfully pursued her TAGME Certification in 2010 and was published in HCPro Inc. in May of 2007. Susan has enjoyed attending and presenting at several regional and national level conferences over her over the span of her career in Graduate Medical Education.

Outside of work, Susan enjoys spending time with her husband of 17 years and their son and daughter. They enjoy supporting and cheering their son on in his Competitive Soccer Program and traveling as well as their daughter’s talent in art and music.
