Dr. Chernaev completed medical school in Sofia, Bulgaria. In 2001, he decided to continue his training in the United States.

Following the successful completion of his ECFMG exams, he began internship at the Physicians Medical Center Carraway in Birmingham, AL. He transferred to Memorial University Medical Center in Savannah, Georgia to complete his Family Medicine residency.

After residency and with a special interest in surgical procedures and obstetrics he joined the Obstetrics Fellowship at Lincoln Medical and Mental Health Center in New York City. This intense and demanding fellowship prepared him well for operative obstetrics which he enjoys.

Dr. Chernaev’s special interests include operative obstetrics, preventative medicine, and minor surgical procedures. On a more personal note he enjoys travel and music.
