Like a lot of children, Carol had the dream of becoming a veterinarian. She obtained a bachelor's degree in animal science/pre-veterinarian medicine and after working at a large humane society, wanted to do more to help people - especially in underserved areas. So she earned her bachelor's of science in nursing, worked in an obstetrical unit and volunteered with an inner city perinatal and infant advocacy program. Intrigued by women's health and childbirth, she obtained her master's in nursing and nurse midwife/nurse practitioner certification. She enjoyed teaching and learning and continued to seek opportunities to develop new skills. Carol received training in diagnostic imaging and became an OB/GYN registered medical ultrasonographer. She received the following honors: Eddie Segelman Award "For the Love of Learning and the Desire to Help Others," Junior Women's League Award for "Elderly Community Enrichment," and Honor Society of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau.
Carol enjoys outdoor activities, spending time at the beach, boating, SCUBA diving and traveling.
