BayCare Kids Family Expo Connects Families with Health, Safety and Support

More than 350 people from across the community gathered at Mease Countryside Hospital in Safety Harbor on Saturday, Oct. 3, for the BayCare Kids Family Expo. The free event connected Pinellas County families with valuable health and wellness resources, reinforcing BayCare’s focus on improving community health through education, prevention and outreach.
During the event, families participated in educational sessions and hands-on activities focused on health, safety and preventive care. Attendees received food provided by Feeding Tampa Bay, as well as free diapers and baby wipes while supplies lasted. They also had access to flu shots, health screenings, booster seat education, infant and child CPR instruction, infant massage demonstrations and hurricane preparedness information.

Kids enjoyed a variety of family-friendly activities, including arts and crafts, face painting, a demonstration from Tampa Bay Raptor Rescue, giveaways and the popular Touch-a-Truck experience.
"Every family deserves access to trusted health information and services that can help their children thrive,” said Brenda Carvalho, director of patient services and women's services for Morton Plant and Mease Countryside hospitals. "The BayCare Kids Family Expo brought those services together in one place, giving families an opportunity to learn, connect and have fun while accessing valuable resources and support.”
The event was made possible through the generous support of community partners, BayCare team members, volunteers and Morton Plant and Mease Countryside hospitals.
