BayCare Kids Family Expo Connects Families with Resources and Fun

More than 100 families from across the community gathered at Morton Plant Hospital’s Powell Pavilion in Clearwater this past Saturday for the inaugural BayCare Kids Family Expo. This free, family-friendly event was designed to connect Pinellas County families with important health and wellness resources—highlighting BayCare’s commitment to improving community health through education, prevention and connection.

“This event is about more than just one day of fun—it’s about breaking down barriers and giving families access to the resources they need to keep their kids healthy and thriving,” said Brenda Carvalho, director of Patient Services–Women’s Services.
Throughout the day, families who attended the expo received vital resources and participated in fun-filled activities, all at no cost. Parents received food from Feeding Tampa Bay, free diapers and wipes, booster seat education, flu shots and adult health screenings. They also had the opportunity to learn infant and child CPR, practice infant massage and prepare for emergencies with hurricane readiness tips. Children explored the Touch-a-Truck experience, created arts and crafts, enjoyed face painting and participated in raffles and giveaways.

The event was made possible thanks to the generous support of community partners, BayCare team members and volunteers. Through events like the BayCare Kids Family Expo, BayCare continues to demonstrate that caring for children means caring for the community. By removing barriers to care and creating opportunities for learning and connection, this free community event helped families across Pinellas County take important steps toward healthier, happier futures.
