Intensive Care Unit

Intensive Care at South Florida Baptist Hospital, providing the specialists and equipment you need when the right care is critical.

South Florida Baptist Hospital offers a modern Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and Progressive Care Unit (PCU) where patients receive highly specialized care and close observation from skilled nursing staff.

Physicians admit patients with complex medical and surgical needs to these two areas. Your doctor determines how long you or your loved one needs to remain in these units for specialized treatment and recovery.

All of the patients in these areas have bedside medical monitors. Cellular phones and pagers are not allowed in these areas because they can interfere with medical equipment.

Immediate family members are encouraged to visit to provide emotional support and to participate in patient care decisions. Children under 12 are not allowed to visit. At the discretion of the ICU nurse and depending on the severity of the patient's illness, visitation may be limited to benefit the patient's healing.

Visiting hours are flexible from 8 a.m.-6:30 p.m., depending on the patient's medical status. Between visits, family members can use the Frank H. and Hazel Moody Waiting Room.
