Awards and Recognition

Winter Haven Women's Hospital is a proud recipient of the Premier Award for Quality in the area of Maternal and Neonatal Care. This nationally recognized award honors excellence in quality of care and operational efficiency. Hospital award winners are chosen based on performance measures for clinical quality outcomes, clinical processes and resource utilization. This award publicly acknowledges the excellent quality of care that has long been recognized by the hospital staff, physicians and patients.

Florida Perinatal Quality Collaborative

The Florida Perinatal Quality Collaborative (FPQC) ensures that all of Florida’s mothers and infants will have the best health outcomes possible through receiving high quality perinatal care. Winter Haven Women’s Hospital has collaborated with the FPQC on multiple initiatives to make sure that every mother and infant receives the highest quality of health care possible.

Reduce Early Elective Deliveries

Through a partnership with FPQC and March of Dimes, Winter Haven Women’s Hospital has been recognized for reducing the number of early elective inductions and cesarean deliveries. Hospitals are recognized for achieving a low rate for elective deliveries before 39 completed weeks of pregnancy.

Hypertension in Pregnancy

Hypertension in pregnancy, or severely high blood pressure, is a leading cause of pregnancy-related death in Florida. WHWH is partnering with the FPQC to improve proper screening, diagnosis, and management of hypertensive disorders related to pregnancy.

Postpartum Hemorrhage

Postpartum hemorrhage (PPH), or severe bleeding, is another leading cause of pregnancy-related death in Florida. As a FPQC partner, WHWH has taken steps to be prepared to treat postpartum hemorrhage efficiently by assessing patients for hemorrhage risks, preparing for and managing hemorrhage in earlier stages, and measuring results.
