Pediatric Heart and Vascular Services in Tampa, Florida
Pediatric and Congenital Heart Program
St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital is home to Tampa Bay’s only comprehensive congenital heart disease (CHD) program that provides specialized heart care throughout a patient’s entire lifetime. We care for patients as early as in the womb and continue treating them as adults living with congenital heart disease. This continuum of care ensures that our patients get the expert heart care that they need no matter what stage of life they are in.
Our congenital heart surgery program is one of the largest in Florida. It was developed in partnership with UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, one of the country’s top-ranking pediatric heart service providers.
Expert pediatric heart surgeons who live locally and work at St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital are part of the larger group of surgeons at UPMC who also provide support locally when needed. Through our collective knowledge and expertise, our team provides the highest quality heart care to our patients. Our surgical outcomes regularly exceed the national benchmarks reported by the Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS).
