Why Choose Us?
Living with a congenital heart condition (one that was present at birth) can affect how you think about your future. Having an experienced, compassionate team by your side can make all the difference.
BayCare provides congenital heart care across every stage of life. Our multidisciplinary team includes adult cardiologists, pediatric cardiologists, heart surgeons, interventional cardiologists and advanced practice providers — all with specialized training in caring for congenital heart disease (CHD). Team members also include experts in pediatric and adult cardiac imaging, electrophysiology, advanced heart failure, intensive care and anesthesia.
Our team approach to adult CHD management means that we coordinate care with your primary care provider, dentist and other specialists involved in your health. Care coordinators and social workers are available to offer guidance and connect you and your family with helpful resources.  And if you ever need emergency or inpatient care at BayCare St. Joseph’s Hospital or any other BayCare hospital, our adult CHD cardiologists are on call 24/7.
National Accreditation

BayCare’s congenital heart program is one of only two in Florida and approximately 60 in the U.S. accredited as a comprehensive care center by the Adult Congenital Heart Association. This designation means we have the people, technologies and procedures in place to provide the highest level of care available today. Every day, we help adults who have congenital heart conditions lead healthier, fuller lives.
