Partnering to Improve Community Health

In 2025, BayCare collaborated with All4HealthFL to complete its third Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA), examining health priorities for residents across Hillsborough, Pasco, Pinellas, Polk, and for the first time, Manatee County.

Providing direct care as well as in-kind and financial support to more than 80 community partners, BayCare’s Community Benefit programs focus on addressing three key areas:

  • Behavioral Health
  • Access to health and social services
  • Exercise, nutrition, and weight

Addressing Food Insecurity

Food insecurity remains a critical need across West Central Florida. In 2025, BayCare focused significant Community Benefit efforts on ensuring access to reliable, nutritious food for individuals and families facing hunger.

2025 Food Insecurity Impact

  • 11,018 Healing Bags of food distributed to patients who reported food insecurity
  • 93,000 Families supported through school-based food pantries
  • 20,917 visits to BayCare food clinics

How BayCare Addresses Hunger

  • Supported 42 school food pantries operated by Feeding Tampa Bay, helping provide reliable food access for more than 93,000 families across the region.
  • Expanded the “Healing Bags” program to include patients at select high-risk clinics in the region, in addition to hospital discharges.
  • Conducted emergency food distributions for communities recovering from hurricanes.
  • Grew BayCare’s Food Clinic program, offering fresh fruits, vegetables and proteins alongside shelf-stable foods.
