Screenings & Vaccinations

It is important to stay on top of the immunizations and screenings needed to continue living a happy and healthy life as we age.

  • Cervical Cancer Screening
It is important to have a regular pap smear to screen for cervical cancer. This test is performed every three years by your health care provider.
  • Blood Pressure Screening
If you have a low risk for heart disease, it is recommended that you get your blood pressure checked every 3 to 5 years. However, some may require annual screenings, so check with your health care provider on recommendations.
  • Breast Exam
Regularly examining your breasts on your own each month is an easy way to look and feel for any abnormalities. Combined with the breast exam performed during your annual checkup, you have a higher chance of finding cancer early, when it's more like to be treated successfully.
  • Flu Shot
The flu vaccine is the best chance to avoid getting the flu. It is important to get the flu vaccine every year as soon as it is available. Learn More
  • HPV Vaccine
Nearly 1 in 4 people in the United States are infected with a form of Human papillomavirus (HPV). The most common types are plantar warts on the feet and warts on the hands, face or neck, and genitals. It is recommended that anyone ages 11-26 get vaccinated.
  • Meningococcal Vaccine
One of the required vaccines for those in college or the military is the Meningococcal vaccine, which prevents meningococcal disease. Meningococcal disease is caused by bacteria that causes infections of the brain and spinal cord lining and is spread through respiratory secretions when living in close quarters.
  • TDaP Vaccine Booster
The TDaP vaccine helps protect against Tetanus, Diphtheria, and Pertussis, all of which are serious diseases. Boosters are recommended every 10 years for adults.
  • Varicella Vaccine
The varicella vaccine helps prevent chickenpox in most people. If you've never had chickenpox, it is recommended that you get 2 doses to reduce the severity of the reaction if you come in contact with the virus.
