The Seating and Positioning Clinic evaluates patients to identify appropriate wheelchairs and necessary seating equipment. Our highly trained therapists provide personalized devices that best address your lifestyle and individual needs.

Services

  • Mobility evaluations identify the most efficient means of wheelchair mobility and independence. We offer a wide variety of manual and power wheelchairs and control systems.
  • Postural evaluations determine which postural supports are appropriate to address balance and improve posture.
  • Pressure mapping evaluations pinpoint the most appropriate wheelchair seat, back cushion and means of pressure relief.
  • Ambulation/standing device evaluations determine the best method to normalize weight bearing. We have access to a variety of standers, gait trainers, walkers and other mobility aids.
  • Self-care device evaluations reveal the most appropriate device to ensure safe bathing, toileting and personal hygiene methods.

    • Equipment and Fittings

    Our therapists and equipment suppliers obtain the necessary documentation and approval for medically necessary equipment, and assist with wheelchair fit for optimal support and function.

    Delivery and Follow Up

    Prescribed wheelchairs are delivered to the clinic. A follow-up appointment will be scheduled to properly adjust and fit the wheelchair for optimal support. Training on wheelchair operation is conducted and can be continued as necessary to assure the highest level of function and independence.

    Referrals

    Our services require a referral from a physician and are billed as outpatient physical therapy. Most insurance companies and government payor sources cover these services.
