What is a Comprehensive Atrial Fibrillation Center?

Our comprehensive center offers easy access to AFib care while providing the highest quality medical outcomes and exceptional patient experience. We work with a diverse team of specialists who develop individualized, patient-centered care plans that focus on shared decision-making while meeting each patient's unique needs. Whether you’ve been newly diagnosed following an emergency department visit or have been managing AFib for years, our specialized services are designed to assist you at every stage of your journey.

Our core services include: 

  • Diagnostics: Echocardiography, electrocardiography, external and implanted heart rhythm monitoring devices (Holter monitors and loop recorders), cardiac MRI and stress testing
  • AFib education: Providing comprehensive information on your condition and available treatment options through hands-on instruction from our advanced care practitioner
  • Medication Management: Working with you and your heart team to optimize your medications for symptom relief and better quality of life. These medications may include rate control, rhythm control and stroke reduction medications.
  • Lifestyle and fitness recommendations: Detailed guidance to support heart health

Becoming a Patient

Many patients are referred to the Comprehensive Atrial Fibrillation Center by a physician such as an emergency room doctor, cardiologist or primary care physician, but a referral isn’t required. Whether you’re in the early process of being diagnosed, recently learned you have AFib or have had AFib for years, we’re here to help. Care Coordination 

Through care coordination, our goal is to support patients and loved ones through their unique AFib journey—every step of the way. If you need a doctor, we can refer you to our network of specialized cardiologists, including our clinic's electrophysiologists. Our team supports all your AFib care needs, including: 

  • Consultation with cardiovascular specialists, such as an electrophysiologist, cardiothoracic surgeons and other cardiac specialists, if needed.
  • Placement of devices such as left atrial appendage closure devices like WATCHMAN, Amulet Amplatzer and AtriClip 
  • Ablation treatments including surgical, catheter-based (including pulse field ablation), hybrid, and AV node
  • Treatment with electrical cardioversion
