Why did you decide to be a part of the Internal Medicine Residency Program?

I chose to be part of the internal medicine residency program because of its foundational role in developing well-rounded physicians capable of managing complex, systemic diseases. Internal medicine provides the perfect groundwork for subspecialty fields like nephrology, which require a deep understanding of physiology, multidisciplinary care, and chronic disease management. My passion for nephrology stems from the field’s intellectual challenges, such as managing intricate electrolyte disturbances and renal replacement therapies, and its potential to improve patients’ quality of life. As a core faculty member, I am committed to mentoring residents in cultivating these skills, fostering lifelong learning, and inspiring a passion for excellence in patient care.
