Clinical Curriculum

BayCare’s Emergency Medicine Residency Program offers a comprehensive, structured clinical curriculum designed to build a solid foundation in emergency care. The program is divided into 13 blocks per academic year, with each block lasting four weeks. These rotations provide exposure to a wide range of emergency medicine subspecialties and critical areas of patient care, ensuring residents develop the skills needed to manage all aspects of emergency medicine.

Residents rotate through core areas including Adult and Pediatric Emergency Medicine, Trauma, Intensive Care (ICU), Ultrasound and Anesthesia, among others. Elective rotations are available to allow residents to tailor their education to specific interests such as Emergency Medical Services (EMS), Medical Education, or Hyperbarics/Tox. Our rotations emphasize hands-on experience, interdisciplinary collaboration, and evidence-based medical decision-making, all in a high-acuity, community-based hospital setting.

This robust clinical curriculum, combined with diverse patient populations and expert faculty, ensures that our residents are prepared to excel in emergency medicine upon graduation.
