Why Choose Us

The BayCare Family Medicine Residency Program is a 3-year program based at St. Joseph’s Hospital-South in partnership with Tampa Family Health Centers, accepting ten residents annually. We promote innovation and value resident input to continuously improve our curriculum and training approach.

BayCare is a nationally recognized, not-for-profit health system with 16 hospitals and numerous outpatient services across five counties in Tampa Bay and West Central Florida, known for compassionate care and clinical excellence.

Our partner, Tampa Family Health Centers, is one of Florida’s largest federally qualified health centers (FQHCs), providing high-quality, accessible care to underserved communities in Hillsborough County. This unique partnership allows our residents to make a meaningful impact in the community while gaining valuable hands-on experience.

We offer numerous career opportunities and encourage our residents to remain in or return to West Central Florida after completing residency or fellowship, continuing to serve the community with excellence.
