BayCare, West Central Florida’s leading not-for-profit academic health care system, has received the 2025 Pharmacy Compounding Excellence Award from Premier Inc., a national health care performance improvement company.

The award honors Premier members that demonstrate high standards in pharmacy compounding services, including patient safety, responsiveness to supply disruptions and leadership in advancing compounding practices.

BayCare was recognized for its excellence in compounding operations and staff deployment, safe handling of compounded products, and best practices in building and deploying compounding services. The health system’s use of technology to meet regulatory requirements and adapt to the evolving needs of the health care industry was also highlighted.

This center has helped us care for our Tampa Bay community by enabling us to avoid drug shortages and provide quality treatments to our patients.”

Additional considerations included a commitment to staff education, innovation in patient access to compounded medications and active involvement in Premier’s Compounding Collaborative and 503B Advisory Group.
