The St. Anthony’s Triathlon is seeking approximately 1,000 volunteers to help during race weekend, April 28-30. During the Triathlon’s 40th year, volunteers are needed to assist the athletes who will swim, bike, and run along St. Petersburg’s waterfront course.

Volunteers fill many roles around the site of Vinoy Park and on the racecourse, such as athlete check-in, bike check-in, finish-line duty, athlete body marking, hydration stations, transition areas and merchandise sales. Since the Triathlon began in 1984, volunteers have been an important part of the event’s success.

To register, visit https://runsignup.com/Race/FL/SaintPetersburg/StAnthonys. While there, select a specific volunteer task and provide name and other information, and T-shirt size. School groups, clubs, churches and other not-for-profit organizations, are invited to participate together at a water station or the after-race parties.

Volunteers are needed throughout the weekend at the St. Anthony’s Sports and Fitness Expo and at the Meek & Mighty Triathlon on April 29. On April 30, volunteers are needed and at the main Triathlon, for both Olympic- and Sprint-distance races.

“Our volunteers are among the best in the sport of triathlon,” said Patrick McGee, Triathlon race director. “With their help, we know that our event will be successful.”

All volunteers will receive a commemorative race T-shirt, access to the volunteer hospitality tent and the opportunity to watch talented pro and amateur triathletes compete at this popular race. Volunteer schedules, directions and parking instructions will be distributed before the race.

The St. Anthony’s Triathlon is sanctioned by USA Triathlon (USAT) and attracts professional and amateur competitors from around the world including Olympic gold medalists, Ironman World Champions and celebrity athletes.
