BayCare's Ambulatory Surgery Centers (ASC), where patients undergo outpatient surgery, are the first in the U.S. to have earned the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) Pathway to Excellence Program® designation. BayCare’s ASCs join 15 of BayCare’s hospitals in earning national recognition as having a healthy work environment for nurses in a health care organization.

The Pathway to Excellence Program is a premier designation, signifying a positive practice environment for nurses who dedicate their working lives to protecting, promoting and improving health care for all. Achieving this status involves evaluation of a confidential survey from nurses which grades an organization on shared decision-making, leadership, safety, quality, well-being and professional development.

"I am so thrilled that our deserving Ambulatory Surgery Center team members are the first in the country to earn this national recognition," said BayCare President/CEO Stephanie Conners, MBA, BSN, RN. "BayCare is powered by an extraordinary team and this recognition is a reflection of their incredible work."

"We heard from ANCC that they have never seen a response rate as high as they did with our nurses in our Ambulatory Surgery Centers," said BayCare Chief Ambulatory Services Officer Todd Jones. "This is an exceptional group of team members who deliver high-quality, compassionate care to our patients every single day. I could not be more proud."
