Family-Friendly 'Rock the Ribbon' Races Return, Registration Open
CLEARWATER, Fla. (February 21, 2022) - After a two-year pause due to the coronavirus pandemic, Morton Plant Mease Health Care Foundation’s “Rock the Ribbon’’ 10K and 5K races return Saturday, March 12 to raise support and awareness for the comprehensive cancer services at Morton Plant Mease hospitals.
The family-friendly race also includes a Kids Dash for ages 1-12 and welcomes walkers, families and children in strollers.
Rock the Ribbon will start on the Morton Plant Hospital campus and take runners through the surrounding waterfront neighborhoods before sending them across the beautiful Clearwater Memorial Causeway Bridge and back.
The Kids Dash begins at 4:30 p.m. and the 10K and 5K are at 5 p.m.
The cost of the race through March 7 is $30 for the 5K and $35 for the 10K. After March 7, the price increases to $35 and $40 respectively. The Kids Dash is $10 through race day. The 5K and 10K are chip-timed USA Track & Field certified events.
Awards will be given to the overall winners and the top three male and female finishers in each age group in the 5K and 10K races. In addition, all participants will receive a medal. Kids Dash participants will receive trophies.
The race also features race photos, custom shirts, a DJ and post-race party with plenty of food, drinks, prizes and entertainment.
