BayCare Celebrates HealthHub in Largo with Community Event

Clearwater, Fla., (October 23, 2018) – BayCare Health System will celebrate the newly renovated BayCare HealthHub in Largo by hosting a free, family-friendly Fall Festival for the local community.

The BayCare HealthHub in Largo, formerly known as BayCare Health Center, was newly renovated into a health and wellness destination designed to make life better for residents in the Largo area and surrounding communities.

The Fall Festival will give the community an opportunity to learn about BayCare services available at the facility, enjoy a fall-themed brunch, receive free health screenings and participate in various activities and giveaways.

The event will be held on Saturday, Nov. 3 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the HealthHub inside the Zena Lansky Pavilion located at 8787 Bryan Dairy Rd, Largo, FL 33777. Residents can register for the event by visiting the BayCare website.

“BayCare HealthHub in Largo is a pilot for the HealthHub model of care,” said Jim Cote, the senior vice president of Ambulatory Service at BayCare. “This facility is a one-stop destination – incorporating technology and convenience to not just treat symptoms, but also help keep families healthier.”

The wellness destination offers various health care services such as primary care, pediatrics, rehabilitation, imaging and laboratories. The HealthHub also has a sleep disorders center, surgery center, community education space and healthy-eating options.

BayCare has also introduced a brand new service called BayCare TechDeck™ into this HealthHub location. This service is an innovative resource for health and wellness technology, which is available to community members, patients and physicians.  TechDeck provides advanced and high-tech products including weight scales, blood pressure cuffs, wearable technology and various apps that can be connected to personal digital devices. TechDeck also helps patients connect to health and wellness services.

This is the first of-its-kind, new model of care for BayCare. The second BayCare HealthHub, called BayCare HealthHub at Bloomingdale, is scheduled to open in March 2019. This one is located at 2470 Bloomingdale Ave. in Valrico, FL.
