South Florida Baptist Hospital Supports Florida Strawberry Festival with Block Party, Sponsorships
PLANT CITY, Fla., Feb. 6, 2018 – South Florida Baptist Hospital is excited to participate in the 2018 Florida Strawberry Festival by sponsoring and hosting several events.
“South Florida Baptist Hospital delivered more than 500 babies in 2017 so it’s only fitting that the hospital is enthusiastic about being the sponsor of the Baby Contest,” said hospital President Karen Kerr. The event takes place March 4 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Showcase tent and includes a Decorated Diaper Contest, a Baby Features Contest, and a Diaper Derby Contest.
Before the Grand Parade begins on March 5, South Florida Baptist Hospital will host a Grand Parade Block Party beginning at 11 a.m. on Reynolds Street next to the hospital. In addition to information about hospital services, community members can enjoy music and snacks.
While many South Florida Baptist Hospital team members are hosting the Block Party, other team members will participate in the Grand Parade that begins at 1 p.m. Look for Team Members and Auxilians of the Month and Year riding the hospital’s float, as well as the BayCare bus. The 40-foot mobile health unit is equipped to provide health screenings, immunizations and education, and participates in numerous health events in Plant City.
Once again the hospital’s focus will turn to babies on March 10 as the sponsor for the Baby Parade at 10:30 a.m. at the Morrow Steel Free Grandstands.
“South Florida Baptist Hospital is proud to support the annual Florida Strawberry Festival. We even stage a strawberry bake-off among our team members, and our Food and Nutrition manager purchases local strawberries for strawberry shortcake in Alexander’s Café,” Kerr said. “We have served the Plant City community for 65 years, not only by providing quality health care services, but also by embracing all that Plant City has to offer. The annual Florida Strawberry Festival is one such tradition that we celebrate.”
