BayCare Health System Names New Vice President of Clinical Excellence

Clearwater, Fla., (April 9, 2018)BayCare Health System has named Patrick Lytle, DO, the new vice president of Clinical Excellence. BayCare is the leading not-for-profit organization comprised of 15 hospitals and hundreds of other convenient locations throughout Tampa Bay and central Florida regions.  

Dr. Lytle, former medical director of Cardiology at Kettering Health Network in Dayton, Ohio, will help drive one of BayCare’s core priorities of clinical excellence across the system. He will focus on reducing clinical and operational variation and improving evidence-based performance throughout key strategic areas.

“I am excited for Dr. Lytle to join BayCare,” said Teri Sholder, senior vice president and chief quality officer for BayCare. “His experience in leadership and quality improvement will help take clinical excellence across the system to the next level.”

Dr. Lytle, who is a physician executive and a board-certified clinical invasive cardiologist, brings more than 20 years of experience in administrative leadership, process improvement, clinical integration and utilization management to BayCare.

During his tenure at Kettering Health Network, Dr. Lytle helped move the cardiology service line to greater heights – advancing the medical and clinical mission, delivery of quality of care and evidenced based medical practice.

Prior to joining Kettering Health Network, Patrick was the chief operating officer and chief financial officer of Cardiology Specialists of Dayton, where he led the day-to-day planning, supervision and ongoing management of specialty medical care services.

Dr. Lytle completed his doctor of osteopathic medicine degree at Des Moines University and his bachelor’s degree at Michigan State University. He also obtained a master’s degree in business administration at Xavier University.
