St. Anthony’s Hospital Invites Community to Health Seminars

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla., (Oct. 10, 2017) -- St. Anthony’s Hospital invites the community to attend health seminars in November that will focus on heart and valve conditions, elder law planning for seniors, smoking cessation and weight loss surgery. There also will be free memory screenings in November. The monthly seminars are free to the public. 

Heart and Valve Conditions
Thursday, Nov. 2
Noon
St. Anthony's Hospital, Auditorium, 1200 Seventh Ave. N, St. Petersburg

Learn about structural heart and valve conditions from Philip Ovadia, MD, who specializes in thoracic cardiovascular surgery. Participants also will learn the causes and symptoms of those conditions and the advanced treatment options available. 

Elder Law Planning for Seniors
Wednesday, Nov. 8
3 p.m.
St. Anthony’s Hospital Memory Disorders Center, 1201 Fifth Ave. N, Suite 206, St. Petersburg

April D. Hill, board certified in elder law, will present a lecture on updating legal documents, such as powers of attorney, and getting the facts on Medicaid benefits and the assisted living waiting lists for in a free seminar for caregivers.

Smoking Cessation Class

BayCare Outpatient Center (Carillon), Conference Room B, 900 Carillon Parkway, St. Petersburg

This two-hour class provides valuable tools to help you quit using tobacco including coping with cravings and physical and emotional symptoms. The class includes free aids to help quit using tobacco while supplies last.
