Mease Dunedin Hospital Renovations Complete

$8 Million Project Transforms ER and Kitchen/Dining Area

DUNEDIN, Fla., (February 13, 2017) -- To better meet the needs of the community, Mease Dunedin Hospital recently completed renovations to the Emergency Room and cafeteria/dining area.

The goal of the four-phase project was to improve accessibility and efficiency for the hospital’s emergency services. The new ER features:

• 22 private patient rooms with updated finishes and layout for improved work flow
• A main nurses station separating the Fast Track and Acute Care areas
• A renovated patient and visitor waiting area

The remodeled kitchen and dining areas opened in the fall of 2016. The renovations included more modern kitchen equipment, new tray line and new dining area updated with bright, new finishes. New technology in cooking such as sous-vide allow for healthier food options and the updates allow patients on the medical floors to order meals in a hotel-like room service concept. The new décor features photos by Dunedin photographer Corey Conroy that were framed by Syd Entel Galleries.
