Dr. Harrington specializes in cardiovascular and thoracic surgery.

Tampa, Fla. (Aug. 24, 2017) – Phillips B. Harrington, MD, joined BayCare Medical Group and is now accepting new patients (age 18 and older) at 3003 W. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., 2nd Floor, Tampa, FL 33607.

Dr. Harrington is board certified in general surgery and board eligible in thoracic surgery. His clinical interests include aortic surgery, surgical management of heart failure, and minimally invasive valve surgery, including transcatheter aortic valve replacement therapy (TAVR) and off-pump coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG). He has contributed numerous articles to peer-reviewed publications such as the Annals of Thoracic Surgery and the Journal of Immunology. He is a member of the American College of Surgeons, Society of Thoracic Surgeons, and International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation.

Dr. Harrington earned his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Florida College of Medicine and then completed his residency in general surgery at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He followed that with a fellowship in cardiothoracic surgery at Emory University in Atlanta.
