Morton Plant North Bay Invites Community to Celebrations

Holiday Lights and New Entrance Grand Opening

NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla., (November 9, 2016) -- To kick off your holiday season, join Morton Plant North Bay Hospital at its annual Holiday Lights Event, which will also serve as the grand opening of the new hospital entrance.

The free, family-friendly event will be Thursday, Dec. 8 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at the Medical Arts Building, 6633 Forest Ave. New Port Richey.

Activities include:

  • Count down to the tree lighting
  • Children’s activities
  • Arts and crafts
  • Live entertainment and holiday music
  • Photos with Santa
  • Special guest visitors
  • Treats and giveaways
  • Holiday snacks and refreshments
  • Tours of the new entrance and lobby
The new entrance is part of a two-year, $24.7 million expansion and renovation project that will add 13,925 square feet to the campus and also includes an expanded emergency department. The hospital’s new main entrance located between the Starkey Tower and the Medical Arts Building will provide a dedicated entry point for those needing access to the hospital and will include a canopy and patient drop off lane, new vestibule, lobby and new gift shop.

When completed the new emergency department will provide 28 private treatment rooms, a new holding area to accommodate 8 additional patients and a 15-bed unit to assist with patient flow for those who require additional observation or monitoring.
