Winter Haven Professional Firefighters Local 4967 Raises Funds to Support Local Care for Women in our Community
Winter Haven, Fla., (February 11, 2016) – The Winter Haven Hospital Foundation is pleased to announce it has received a $4,700 contribution from the Winter Haven Professional Firefighters Local 4967. The gift will be utilized to support local care for women in East Polk County.
The Winter Haven Professional Firefighters Local 4967, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization represents the Professional Firefighters of Winter Haven.
During the month of October 2015, Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Winter Haven Professional Firefighters raised funds to benefit the Winter Haven Hospital Foundation. The funds are earmarked to help purchase breast imaging equipment as well as provide transportation for disadvantaged patients to and from chemotherapy treatments. The organization sold tee shirts at the price of $10 and 100% of the proceeds were donated to the Winter Haven Hospital Foundation.
“We have a passion for community involvement and wanted our first fundraising endeavor to help local patients,” states Casey Dasher, the president of the Professional Firefighters Local 4967. “We could not be more delighted with the support our community has given us for this most worthwhile cause. A special thank you to our City Commissioners, the City of Winter Haven, Fire Chief Tony Jackson and Publix Store #1204 for helping make this fundraiser initiative a success. We are looking forward to collaborating with the Foundation on our new fundraiser in 2016.”
