South Florida Baptist Hospital Recruiting Teen Volunteers

February 04, 2015

PLANT CITY, Fla., Feb. 4, 2015 — Spring is officially more than one month away, yet South Florida Baptist Hospital is planning for summer.  That’s when teenagers on summer break volunteer their time at the hospital.

“We love our teen volunteers,” said Teresa Armbruster, South Florida Baptist Hospital Volunteer coordinator.  “We really appreciate their giving up their summer for us.”

Dates for the 2015 summer program are June 8 - August 14.  Community members may pick up applications on March 9, beginning at 8 a.m. in the main lobby of the hospital.  Only 40 applications are available for the community on a first-come, first-served basis.  “We request that interested people take only one application per person,” Armbruster said.  Applications must be returned by 4:30 p.m., March 23.

Interested teens must be between the ages of 14 and 18.  They must maintain a 2.5 GPA and commit to serve at least eight weeks of the 10-week program.  A teen may take up to a two-week vacation during the program.  Two unexcused absences will result in termination from the program.
