Family Stricken by Cancer Brings Christmas Cheer to Oncology Patients at St. Joseph’s Hospital
Tampa, Fla. (December 19, 2014) - Visiting patients at the St. Joseph’s Hospital Cancer Institute has been a Christmas tradition for Darlene Bodnar for nearly three decades. Every year, Bodnar and a crew of elves, which includes the Hopper Family band, sing Christmas carols, play music and deliver presents to dozens of cancer patients.
Bodnar’s cousin passed away from cancer and she carries on her/his memory by bringing Christmas joy to others battling this terrible disease.
On Monday, December 22 at 9:30 a.m., Bodnar and her crew will deliver Christmas cheer room to room, the Outpatient Infusion Unit and Radiation Department. She always makes a special stop to see staff members who treated her cousin.
