We Need Your Special Touch

Each year St. Joseph’s Women’s Hospital grows and changes to meet the health care needs of our community, and each year our volunteer opportunities also increase.

Volunteer Opportunities:

BREAST CENTER/RADIOLOGY - Greet patients and assist with the registration process, escort to imaging changing room, film lab liaison.
Shifts: Monday - Friday  8:30am-12:30pm and 12:30pm-4:30pm

HIGH RISK - Visit our long term patients, answer call lights and provide entertainment, games, movies, books, magazines and conversation. 
Shifts: Monday - Friday 9am-1pm and 1pm-5pm

CUDDLERS - Comforting infants in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Assist staff with additional responsibilities as requested. Limited availability - applications kept on file for 6 months.
Shifts: Monday - Sunday  8am-8pm (3 hour - morning, afternoon and evening shifts)

MED/SURG - Greet patients and visitors, answer call lights and assist with discharges.
Shifts: Monday - Friday 8:30am-12:30pm and 1pm-5pm

GIFT SHOP - Greet customers and assist in selection of merchandise, deliver flowers to patient rooms, help sort and display merchandise.
Shifts: Monday - Friday 9:30am-3pm and 3-8pm, Saturday and Sunday 10am-2pm and 12pm-4pm

HER PLACE - Greet customers and assist in selection of nursing supplies and breast pump rental process.
Shifts: Monday - Friday 9am-1pm

INFORMATION DESK - Use your good people skills to greet patients and visitors, provide patient information, escort them to their destination and handle incoming calls.
Shifts: Monday - Friday   8:30am-12:30pm and 1pm-5pm

LABOR & DELIVERY - Assemble charts, IV kits, restock LDR patient rooms, greet new patients and provide brief orientation to their surroundings.
Shifts: Monday, Wednesday, Friday 8:30am-12:30pm

MOM/BABY - Greet patients and visitors, answer call lights, assist staff with administrative duties and patient rounding. 
Shifts: Monday - Friday 8:30am-12:30pm and 1pm-5pm

PASTORAL CARE - Lay individuals trained on ministering and listening to patients and their families.
Shifts:Monday - Sunday  flexible hours

PAT/SURGERY WAITING ROOMS - Escorts patients to assigned pre-op beds, escorts fathers back to changing room for c-sections, assist with discharges from phase II, clerical/admin when needed. Act as the liaison between families and patients in waiting rooms.
Shifts: Monday - Friday  7am/8am-12pm or 12pm-4pm or 1pm-5pm

SHUTTLE DRIVER - Shuttle patients and visitors between the parking areas and hospital entrance. 
Shifts: Monday - Friday 8am-12:30pm and 12:30pm-5pm
