Suncoast Hospice of Hillsborough Inpatient Care

Suncoast Hospice of Hillsborough Care Center at St. Joseph’s is located on the 8th floor of St. Joseph’s Hospital. The Care Center is designed to manage pain and symptoms in a setting that is peaceful and comfortable for the patient and their family and friends.

While hospice care is typically provided in a patient’s home or residence, sometimes pain or symptoms need a higher level of care requiring an in-patient stay with around-the-clock care. When the issues are resolved the patient may return home.

With the Care Center located inside of St. Joseph’s Hospital, hospitalized patients can seamlessly transition to the Center when ready. The Care Center also accept patients from the community needing inpatient care. Featuring 10 private rooms, the Care Center is decorated with patients and family’s comfort top of mind including space for visitors. It is available for visitors 24/7. 

Your Care Team is available for support and comfort. Care may include:
  • Expert hospice and palliative care physicians, nurses and other medical professionals who treat pain and symptoms 24/7.
  • Spiritual care, social work and counseling professionals who bring healing and guide decision making.
  • Specially trained support and palliative arts volunteers who bring companionship and comfort.
